Hearing Aid Usage Guides

 

Batteries

  • Take off paper (tab)
  • Place tab on calendar to monitor usage
  • Flat side up (+)
  • Never force door shut
  • Use battery from good aid to check questionable unit
  • Keep away from your medication and children
  • When you take out a dead battery either throw it away or recycle it

Battery Life

  • Size 10 — 3 to 5 days
  • Size 312 — 7 to 10 days
  • Size 13 — 9 to 14 days
  • Size 675 — 7 to 14 days
    

Telephone

  • Find the "Sweet Spot" of the hearing aid
  • Use volume control if available
  • If no T-Coil, hold phone over microphone and tip to allow reduction in feedback

Cleaning

  • Brush mic & receiver
  • Wipe with soft cloth daily

General Information

  • Avoid excessive heat or cold
  • Avoid moisture
  • Remove when using hairspray, perfume, or cologne
  • Keep in a safe place when not wearing
  • Do not drop your hearing aid
